Hi Everyone,
On this snowy morning, I’d like to speak to you about myself with focus on my work and experience with Reiki, a Japanese healing modality that is expanding around the world, and how it is transforming my life. It can transform your life in many ways.
I am Jane Rosalea Booth, author of In Silence, Discovering Self through Meditation, Minister of Spiritual Peacemaking with the Beloved Community, a peace organization with over 500 peace ministers around the world, and a USUI Reiki Teacher and Practitioner. My mission in life is to assist myself and others to discover inner peace within and to offer it to all beings. This mission has had blocks and ups and downs and continues to evolve and unfold in mysterious and wondrous ways that are revealing my true being to me so I may grow and connect fully with spirit and all life.
Reiki Revealed
I was first introduce to Reiki in 1997. Reiki is a Japanese healing modality founded by Dr. M. Usui in the late 1800′s, but is said to be an ancient art that has been used for thousands of years. Reiki is two words: Rei-spirit and Ki-energy or ‘spirit energy’ or often translated as the ‘universal life force’ that flows through all life. To tell the truth, I wasn’t quite sure about it, but I was curious to find out more about “energy healing”. Even after I took my first Level I practitioner Certification training, I didn’t have a strong belief in it. I needed proof and I received it. After several months of practising Reiki my thoughts began to change. I saw how it was relaxing and reducing pain in me and others. I began to combine it with my Natural Sound Healing with tuning forks and the results showed me that something profound was happening.
In 2007, I became a Reiki Master which means I can teach others to share Reiki with themselves and others. Reiki is meant to be shared and I love teaching new practitioners. Reiki changes us and the transformation is very visible as one becomes a channel for this Universal Life Force Energy. This energy is pure unconditional love. Reiki deepens our spiritual awareness and connection to all life. Perhaps, this spiritual growth is Reiki’s biggest gift to us, but it does heal us on all levels -physical, mental, emotional and spiritual leading us to experience our wholeness. Spirit energy is available with us in each moment…it is infinite and abundant.
In Meaford
I now offer my services in Meaford, Ontario, a small town on Georgian Bay. I have had amazing results with Reiki assisting in clients with pain relief and limb movement, emotional problems, stress releif and relaxation. One client recently told me that her Doctor noticed a great change in her and asked her ‘What were you doing this morning?” My client replied that she had received a Reiki treatment from me. The Doctor said, “How did that make you feel?” My client said, “Like a ten tonne truck was lifted off my back.” Her Doctor told her to come to see me twice a month. It is always nice to receive validation from a medical doctor.
Reiki does not replace medical care. It is a complimentary care that does not affect medications or other treatments. It is non-invasive. Reiki is a light touch and hands around the body. You are fully clothed during a treatment where you relax on a massage table during the session. Many of my clients fall asleep quickly as they begin to experience the Reiki and many go into a deep relaxing meditation. All of my clients tell me they feel totally relaxed and peaceful after a treatment.
New Phase – Reiki for Horses
I have a new phase in my Reiki life happening now. I am offering Reiki
to Horses. I owned 3 Quarter Horses for 25 years many years ago and it has been some time since I’ve been around horses. But I met a new friend who has four horses and over the winter months I am offering Reiki to them. I have only been to see the horses twice as our winter storms have prevented me from reaching the farm. The first visit both horses were open to it. The older horse dropped her head and her eyelids closed and she just loved it. The younger horse was not as quiet but he too responded. The next visit was a wintery, windy day and the horses were frisky and not as responsive standing with me so I offered it at a distant. They were both open to receive it. Since then I have been offering long distant Reiki to them .I look forward to seeing them this week, if the weather clears. It keeps snowing and snowing here!
Reiki for Pets
What I witnessed with the horses was the power of Reiki to relax and calm them. Animals do not fake relaxation! I know it works on them as it does for myself and others. Our dog Ginger loved her Reiki time with me and when she was near her end, she openly received it and her rapid heart beat calmed. She rested comfortably. We connected in a most special way that will always be in my heart.

There are many benefits with pets to relieve stress from changes within the home, a new home, visits at the veterinarian etc. Once again, Reiki does not replace veterianian care but compliments it. Reiki assists us with animal communication as we connect through telepathy with our pets or wild animals. Everything is about making a heart connection. Through love we heal and blossom.

I have transitioned through my life from an elementary school teacher, to sales and business owner, to holistic teacher, peace minister and Reiki Master…I now hear the animals calling me…they have been my greatest teachers.
As I said it is a snowy, blowy day in Meaford and I have the fireplace on and blessed with a warm home. Thanks for liking my article. I see you have a passion for pets as I have. Our dear Shihpoo Ginger passed away last November and we miss her terribly. All the grooming was worth it! We also kept her coat short most of the year. It gets cold here in Canada. We are going to adopt a rescue dog as soon as the weather warms up. We still have snow. Hopefully, spring weather is on its way. I have been out at a farm in the snow and blow offering Reiki to two horses who just love it and they really relax.
